Sorry, but drunk driving is not funny. When did it become acceptable to laugh about something that puts other people's family members in danger? Maybe when someone close to you is killed it will become less funny.

r, youre an a$$ hole who has obviously never been affected by the $hit choices of drunks.. maybe you'd like to see some photos from my moms accident or the bitch that almost killed her or maybe you'd like to watch your mom have more than a dozen operations to survive... try that a$$ hole

But you'd probably be laughing too if you WEREN'T personally affected. How about you try never laughing at a gay joke, or a Holocaust joke, or a fat joke, or a woman driver joke... Need I go on? You shouldn't pick and choose what jokes to laugh at...that makes you a hypocrite.

a holocaust joke?? never heard one of those. that might be taking the point too far...

You've seriously never heard one? They're all over the place...like the dead babies jokes. I don't go around telling them, but I hear them all the time.

Laughing at a joke is different than laughing at an action. If you cant see the difference in that then there's not even any point in arguing.

Well said, but unless you were on location when this was said, there's no way to know whether it was a joke or a soon-to-be action.

SK...you need to reevaluate your definition of hypocrite. It would be correct to use the term hypocrite if B. (or anyone else who remarked that this was unfunny) were to drive drunk themselves after stating how wrong drunk driving is.

Wow Josh, what a low blow. Criticizing my knowledge of English really hurts.

But here you go: "Hypocrisy (or the state of being a hypocrite) is the act of preaching a certain belief or way of life, but not, in fact, holding these same virtues oneself."

So when people "preach" about not laughing at hurtful "jokes" but then laugh at different hurtful jokes, that would, in fact, be hypocritical. Maybe you should have looked it up before making yourself into an idiot.

I don't think you're getting the point. They were saying that drunk driving is wrong. And a joke about driving drunk is different than a racist joke. This was someone joking about actually getting into a car and driving (since the two people in the conversation were actually drunk...it can be assumed the action was going to take place.) This is different than laughing at a racist joke unless you say in your joke that you, personally, are going to (excuse me vulgarity) lynch a black person. A risque joke is different than someone making fun of the fact that they are drunk driving. The fact that you would think the two are comparable at all is laughable.

What's laughable is that people get so bent out of shape about OIA. Seriously? How long did that take you to type?

Obviously I don't get the point. So why bother arguing with me? I'm just an ignorant, awful person.

Now who's a hypocrite. Touche. Hee...

did you just "touche" yourself? that's really not how that works...

01/03/2009, 7:39 PM

B. said...
I wasn't really touche-ing myself, but merely the fact that SK was being a hypocrite after he/she had a hissy about someone else being a hypocrite. But yea, I may have "touche"-d myself...and I liked it.

I didn't actually have a hissy fit. I'm on here all the time...I haven't spent any more time on the site than I do on any other week.

Stop throwing that word around. I do not think it means what you think it means.

You keep using that word...I do not think it means what you think it means...lol....

while i do appreciate the pun, "touche" is generally a clever comment to make after someone else has made a clever point. so yes, by saying "touche" about a point that you are making, you are "touche"-ing yourself, in more way than one.
