actually, considering the present food system and what cows are generally fed in conventional meat/milk production, you really can't be sure the contents of any cow patty, it could very easily be (digested remnants of) meat; they're known to be fed chicken meat (bits and pieces which are bad enough to be rejected, for one reason or another, from direct sale to humans)... but depending on where those chickens were "raised", they may have been fed bad cow meat too. hooray for making carnivores out of herbivores.
oh! and corn. lots and lots of subsidized, environment-destroying corn that these animals have not evolved the digestive systems to eat.
